The SPQ website is actually going to be quite impressive – far better than any adventure race site up to this point. They have included the following in a website news release.

"Some of the many features that will be available on the Web site after the pre-race briefing include:

--Two different maps: The first map feature uses a Java application to view the GPS tracking data of all 62 teams, identifying their exact paths and last-reported locations on the course. The second interactive map allows users to locate on the course any checkpoint or specific team with the click of a mouse. The interactive map allows individual users flexibility in terms of the information they want displayed (cities, roads, etc). Both maps also use a color-coding system to distinguish each of the five disciplines (trekking, mountain biking, mountaineering, kayaking and rappelling) to inform users what each team is doing at any particular time. The site also offers easy navigation along the map via scrolling, zoom and pan.

--Leaderboard: Separate leaderboard applications within the site show either the ranking of the top ten teams or of all 62 teams. Users have the option of viewing leaders by discipline (communicating which teams excel in certain sections of the course).

--Mouse-over information: The interactive map and the leaderboards offer mouse-over capabilities, which display the name, discipline, elevation, distance, and team's in and out times for each checkpoint.

--Race Analysis page: Presenting information based on either team or course, the Race Analysis page uses graphs to compare any team's progress on the course to the leader's progress and the course average.

--Weather report page: Powered by AccuWeather, this page supplies detailed daily weather forecasts and information, updated hourly."
